Students are interested in getting to know friends from different cultures. Curricula for English as a school subject prepare them rather for taking exams, and not so much for every day use. This project will take advantage of their curiosity to increase motivation for learning foreign languages while making new friends, and maintaining relationships through simple, funny and excited experiences.
They will exchange information about themselves, their place of living, their language and culture. The project will familiarize the students with simple phrases from languages of its participants. The use of ICT will show them that computers are tools, not ‘friends’ for spending spare time with, on meaningless entertainment . Students will use computers to encounter friends online.
